Diploma in Responding to Trauma and Violence using Narrative Practices
Utkarsha Jagga
Utkarsha is a counselling psychologist and narrative practitioner who believes that at the core of therapeutic work lies connection and love. She is the founder and senior psychologist at The Coping Central, where she works with individuals, couples, and groups, while also supervising training fellow therapists. She always likes to maintain that while my practice goes and visits many other schools of thought, narrative practices are always the home base.

Her academic path began with psychology at the University of Delhi and continued with a master’s in applied psychology (specialisation in counselling psychology) from TISS, Mumbai. Along the way, she trained in Narrative Practices, became a suicide first aid responder, and was selected as a Pleasure Fellow with The Pleasure Project in 2023 - experiences that shaped her intersectional approach to therapy. Utkarsha’s work centers on complex trauma, sexuality, attachment, and anxiety; she sees all of these through a narrative lens. She believes our sense of self is built in the stories we are told, the ones we hold, and the stories we tell, and therapy becomes a space to reimagine those stories.
If not fretting about client-work and admin spreadsheets, you can catch her watching her favourite movies for the 87th time, trying to read a book while scrolling Instagram for the best cat reels, or finding a new skill to learn, only to drop it halfway through.
